TV Sports Schedule, 3/16: Capitals-Red Wings, VCU-USC

If you didn't have any plans for tonight before you started reading this sentence, now you do. Here are the best sports on television tonight, and where and when you can watch them. All times Eastern. Follow the links to learn more about each of the teams listed below. Let's get right into it.

↵

NHL Hockey:

↵

Capitals Vs. Red Wings, 7:30, CSN:Now this is the Capitals team I think we were all expecting heading into the year. The Caps have won nine straight games, and now they head to Hockey Town to make it an even ten. Don't worry, the basketball isn't that great yet, you won't be missing anything if you choose to watch this.

↵

NCAA Basketball:

↵

Texas-San Antonio Vs. Alabama St., 6:30, truTV: Ignore what I just said about the basketball not being that good yet. Because this game is awesome. Not only can I not name a single player on either one of these teams, but I don't think I can name a player who has ever played for these schools. But interesting things can happen with a tournament spot on the line.

↵

Virginia Commonwealth Vs. Southern Cal, 9, truTV: This game should be a little bit better. The two teams are competing for the highest seed ever awarded to the winner of a play-in game. For Virginia Commonwealth, it's a chance to justify (sort of) their controversial inclusion in the field. For Southern Cal, it's a chance not to lose to the team everyone thinks is the worst in the Tournament. Should be fun.
