Montrose Christian's Justin Anderson Will Play For Maryland In College

The Maryland Terrapins have secured one of the biggest commitments in the history of the Gary Williams era. Justin Anderson, the high-flying junior for Montrose Christian, will play for the Terps, according to the school

Anderson is a consensus top-50 prospect in the nation as of right now, currently ranked 43rd overall and 11th among small forwards, according to Rivals.com. If the ranking holds up, he will be the Terps' highest-ranked recruit since Mike Jones.

This is an unbelievably early commitment for Maryland, and it hits right at one of their weaknesses over the years: the inability to pull in high-end recruits. Anderson is very much a high-end recruit, and he's in the Terps' backyard. He comes one year after the Terps secured a commitment from highly-ranked Baltimore guard Nick Faust.
