NCAA Tournament Update: Pittsburgh Leads UNC-Asheville By Only Five At Halftime

Could we be seeing a possible huge March Madness upset in Washington D.C.? Maybe not, but No. 1 seed Pittsburgh is having its issues with No. 16 seed UNC-Asheville. It's halftime, and the Panthers lead just 30-25.

It looked like Pittsburgh would have its way with UNC-Asheville when it took a 23-11 lead at the 7:42 mark of the first half. But then UNC-Asheville rallied, picking up their defense and closing the half on a 14-7 run to cut the lead back down to five. It could have been even better for UNC-Asheville, but they squandered an opportunity for a wide open putback in the final seconds.

Neither team is shooting well, with both under 37 percent from the field for the game. It's the kind of game Pittsburgh likes to play. But even so, they still only lead by five points, so there might be some cause for concern. Stay tuned.
