The March Madness field of 68 is now down to 32, which means the third (or second, whichever you prefer) round can finally commence as we wind down to the Final Four. The local torch will be carried by George Mason, RIchmond and Virginia Commonwealth, as Old Dominion, Georgetown and Hampton have been sent packing.
Only one of those three teams is in action today, as Richmond looks to out-Cinderella Morehead State. The Spiders will play at 5:15 in Denver on CBS, because evidently the network executives believe everyone wants to see a matchup between two double-digit seeds. The other big games are No. 4 Kentucky vs. No. 5 West Virginia at 12:15 and an intriguing matchup between No. 3 BYU and No. 11 Gonzaga at 7:45. Also, the Washington D.C. regional concludes with No. 1 Pittsburgh vs. No. 8 Butler and No. 3 Connecticut vs. No. 6 Cincinnati.
