Bryce Harper Injures Ankle In Nationals Minor League Intrasquad Game

Bryce Harper was the talk of Nationals spring training before being sent down to the minor leagues, but now, the news with Harper is not good. Harper injured his ankle during a Minor League Intrasquad game on Monday, and the team is saying he is day-to-day.

Harper was carted off the field with the injury, according to a number of tweets by The Nats Blog. He has yet to receive an X-ray, which explains why he is day-to-day. According to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post, Harper also left Saturday's game early, though it was not because of an ankle injury.

It remains unclear how exactly Harper suffered the injury, but there appears to be a chance it is serious, given that he was carted off the field. Harper was scheduled to begin the season in Class-A Hagerstown, and there was an outside chance he would make it to the Major League by the end of the season.
