Capitals Vs. Senators: Caps Looks For Share Of First Place Without Alex Ovechkin, Jason Arnott

The Washington Capitals return to the road tonight, making a trip up north to face the Ottawa Senators. They'll be doing so once again without Alex Ovechkin, Mike Green and Jason Arnott, who each are resting nagging injuries. The two forwards are likely to return next week, according to Katie Carrera of the Washington Post, but Green may still need to wait it out.

The Capitals clinched a berth in the NHL Playoffs with a win over the Philadelphia Flyers earlier this week, but remain in second place in the conference, two points behind Philadelphia. The Flyers don't play until Saturday night against the New York Islanders, so tonight's home game would be a great chance for the Capitals to temporarily move into a tie at the top of the Eastern Conference.

Michal Neuvirth seems likely to start in net tonight, but Semyon Varlamov could return tomorrow against the Montreal Canadians.

The game starts at 7:30 PM and will be broadcast locally on CSN+.
