Vee Sanford To Transfer From Georgetown, Destination Unknown

The Georgetown Hoyas were already going to have to replace a lot of key players from last year's team. Now, they will have to replace another. Vee Sanford, a reserve guard that fell out of coach John Thompson III's rotation, will be transferring, the school confirmed Monday.

Sanford averaged 2.8 points per game in just 6.6 minutes per game, and didn't even receive many minutes after Chris Wright's injury, which was the nail in the coffin. A native of Lexington, KY, Sanford had been vocal about his lack of playing time, so him transferring is not a surprise. Many fans felt he deserved more of a chance, and you can bet he'll receive that chance wherever he decides to go.

FOX Sports' Jeff Goodman was the first to report the news on Friday. For more on the impact of Sanford's decision, both for the team itself and for the program, head over to Casual Hoya.
