George Huguely Indicted On Six Charges In UVA Lacrosse Murder Of Yeardley Love

George Huguely, who was accused of murdering fellow Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love in a tragic story last summer that shook the sports world, has been indicted on six charges by a grand jury. One of those six charges is murder.

Via WUSA 9:

A Charlottesville Circuit Court grand jury deliberated six felony charges, including murder. The jury then indicted 23-year-old George Huguely of Chevy Chase, Md., on felony murder, robbery, burglary, statutory burglary and grand larceny charges    

The trial is scheduled to begin on February 6, 2012, according to the report. The actual alleged murder took place on May 3, 2010, and it shocked the school, the lacrosse community and sports in general. Huguely is a native of Chevy Chase, Maryland, while Love is from Cockeysville, Maryland.

Huguely has been in prison since he was arrested. He was one of the top players on the Virginia lacrosse team, as was Love on the women's squad.
