Georgetown's Hollis Thompson To Enter 2011 NBA Draft, Will Not Hire Agent

Georgetown basketball is losing several key players from a team that looked poised to do some damage in the NCAA Tournament before Chris Wright's late-season injury. Now, they could lose one more. Backup forward Hollis Thompson, who averaged 8.6 points and 4.4 rebounds last season, has elected to put his name into the draft, according to the school.

#Hoyas G/F Hollis Thompson has put his name into NBA draft, but will not hire an agent and thus retains NCAA eligibility, Gtown confirms.

Thompson has until May 8 to pull back out of the draft and return to school. He was slated to get more of a featured role with the graduation of Wright, Austin Freeman and Julian Vaughn, so for him to actually declare would be curious. It's more likely that he's trying to see what his NBA prospects might be so he can return and work on improving his weaknesses.
