Boskovic Says He'll Seek Second Opinion Before Undergoing Surgery

Steven Goff of the Washington Post was able to track down Boskovic and worked an update on the Montenegrin's injury into his match report of last night's 4-1 loss to Houston. According to Goff, Boskovic will seek a second opinion before deciding whether or not to undergo surgery on his left knee. If the second opinion matches the original diagnosis, then the midfielder will undergo surgery and likely miss four to six months.

It should be pointed out here that D.C. United President Kevin Payne was not particularly pleased with the tackle that forced Boskovic off the field in Tuesday night's U.S. Open Cup loss to New England. "That was a nasty foul," Payne said, "and I don't think it was a coincidence that Boskovic suffered it."

Boskovic himself, for what it's worth, didn't see much wrong with the challenge, saying "I don’t think he tried to hurt me. The ball was between us and I think it’s not a bad foul."

There was no TV coverage of Tuesday's match, and consequently the best view of the tackle comes from D.C. United's own videos of the match, which can be found here. The tackle itself is at the 2:42 mark, and you can decide for yourself how honest it was.
