D.C. United star Charlie Davies is expected to see an important visitor during the Black and Red's match against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday. SB Nation D.C. confirmed an earlier report that Bob Bradley, the coach of the U.S. National Team, will be in attendance, presumably to scout Davies.
When asked about Bradley's presumed presence, Davies told Steven Goff of the Washington Post that he cannot wait for this opportunity.
"That was my whole goal coming here, to make the Gold Cup roster after the letdown for the World Cup," Davies said Friday. "I've worked extremely hard to get to where I am now. I feel ready, confident and I'm going to go into the same way."
Davies was on course to play in the World Cup in 2010 before a devastating car crash nearly ended his soccer career. However, he has made it all the way back and has been starring for D.C. United all season. Bradley has until May 21 to finalize his roster for the Gold Cup, and one would think he's traveling to D.C. United to get his final look at Davies.
