Luke Hancock To Transfer From George Mason Basketball, According To Report

When Paul Hewitt replaced Jim Larranaga as the head coach for George Mason, one silver lining to the move was that the Patriots, with only one significant graduation in Cam Long, were going to be very good next year. However, that could take a hit now. Luke Hancock, the team's third-leading scorer and leading assist producer last season, is expected to transfer, according to Brian Mull of the Star News.

It's not clear to where Hancock would transfer, but if true, this is a huge blow to George Mason. Hancock missed the team's Round of 32 NCAA Tournament game against Ohio State with food poisoning, and that played a major role in George Mason's blowout loss to Ohio State. His size and passing ability makes George Mason a difficult matchup for anyone. If he is indeed transferring, it robs George Mason of both his talent and his ability to create mismatches.
