First of all, it's Mother's Day. Don't you dare turn on that TV unless mom has given permission, or better yet, demanded to watch sports programming, such as lovable Livan on the hill for the Nats or a bitter Kobe Bryant losing Game 4. If either of these scenarios arise, I permit you to review today's television schedule after the jump.
Nationals vs. Marlins: Livan "Lazarus" Hernandez take the hill today for the hometown nine, looking to pitch Washington to a sweep of Florida. Roger Bernadina, called up to replace the injured Rick Ankiel, was two for four on Saturday with a stolen base. Ankiel might've just been Pipp'd.(1:10 p.m., MASN2)
NBA Playoffs
Lakers vs. Mavericks, 3-0 Mavs, Game 4: Shockingly, Dallas is looking to sweep the defending NBA Champions from the 2011 playoffs with a win today. If Los Angeles has any hope of pulling off the miracle series comeback, they will need Kobe and Kompany to play a FULL game today, and not blow fourth quarter leads to Dallas as they did in Games 1 and 3. (3:30 p.m., ABC)
Bulls vs. Hawks, 2-1 Bulls, Game 4: 2011 NBA MVP Derrick Rose torched Atlanta for 44 points in Game 3, and the Hawks need to pull a rabbit out of there hat today to not let it happen again. Rose was virtually unstoppable from everywhere on the floor, and even an 50% duplication of his efforts probably send Chicago back home with a 3-1 series lead. (8:00 p.m., ABC)
NHL Playoffs
Red Wings vs. Sharks, 3-1 Sharks, Game 5: Detroit was able to save face with a Game 4 win, preventing San Jose from sweeping them on their home ice. After a quick turnaround and some travel woes, do the Red Wings have enough juice to force a Game 6? (8:00 p.m., Versus)
Maryland Mens Basketball Coaching Search: No defined TV outlets for this one, but if today is anything like yesterday with the rumors and almost hires, following your tweet machine under the table during Mom's dinner might be a requirement.
