Phillies Vs. Nationals: Washington Looks For Series Win In Sweltering Heat

The Washington Nationals will look to actually take a series off the mighty Philadelphia Phillies in the final game of a three-game series at Nationals Park on Wednesday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. John Lannan will take the hill for the Nationals against Roy Oswalt.

The Nationals earned a surprising 10-2 win on Tuesday night, teeing off on the normally-impeccable Cliff Lee. Danny Espinosa had two home runs to lead the way for Washington in the victory. Washington has actually hit the Phillies well throughout the series, bashing three solo home runs off Roy Halladay in the series opener on Monday, a 5-4 loss.

Lannan and Oswalt, as well as the rest of the players, will have to deal with incredibly hot temperatures that are over 100 degrees at gametime. It's not clear who these conditions favor, but they are there. Here is the Nationals' lineup:

  1. Roger Bernadina (CF)
  2. Ian Desmond (SS)
  3. Jayson Werth (RF)
  4. Laynce Nix (LF)
  5. Michael Morse (1B)
  6. Danny Espinosa (2B)
  7. Wilson Ramos (C)
  8. Alex Cora (3B)
  9. John Lannan (P)
