CONCACAF Gold Cup 2011 Schedule For Saturday: Quarterfinal Round Gets Underway

If you just can't wait until Sunday's U.S. match to get your Gold Cup fix, the tournament schedulers have obligingly thrown up the first two quarterfinal matches this afternoon. As is the case with Sunday's quarterfinal doubleheader at RFK Stadium, tournament organizers have announced that today's doubleheader at the 80,000-seat New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. is sold out. Time and TV information is below.

Honduras vs. Costa Rica--5 p.m., Telefutura. Both are Gold Cup quarterfinal regulars. Costa Rica is making its 7th straight quarterfinal appearance today, while Honduras is appearing in the last eight for the 4th straight time.

Mexico vs. Guatemala--8 p.m., Univision. Defending champions Mexico look to continue their unbeaten run on the current campaign against a historically unimpressive Guatemalan side, who have just 4 wins in a total of 26 tournament games.

If you can't get to a TV, both matches can also be seen online at univisionfutbol.com There are also other ways to see the match via the internet, though we can't explicitly name names. If you use Google wisely, they will be found.

The winners of these matches will play each other in the semifinals Wednesday evening at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
