College World Series 2011 Bracket Update: South Carolina Wins Second Straight College World Series

For the second straight season, the South Carolina Gamecocks are NCAA National Champions. They finished off a sweep of the Florida gators with a 5-2 victory, and are the 2011 NCAA Champions. Their victory is particularly noteworthy because it is the first in the new TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha. They won the last National Championship played at Rosenblatt Stadium last year, and the first at this new venue. According to ESPN, that was their plan all along.

"Beginning of the year I said we finished at the old one, so let's try to open the new one up," said second baseman Scott Wingo, voted the CWS' Most Outstanding Player. "Coach wasn't sure we would get it, but I'm the type of guy who felt we were going to do it. I was thinking of the Oregon State team the whole year. I had a feeling we would get back and win this thing, and we did."
