Pirates Vs. Nationals: Teams Play Critical Doubleheader At Nationals Park

The Washington Nationals and Pittsburgh Pirates will play a doubleheader on Saturday to make up a rained-out game from earlier in the season. The first game will be at 3:30 p.m. at Nationals Park, while the second game is scheduled to begin at 7:05, though that ultimately depends on when the first game is finished.

The Nationals snapped their losing skid on Friday night when Matt Stairs hit a walk-off home run to give Washington a 2-1 win. The win was also Davey Johnson's first as Nationals manager, and it moved Washington back to .500.

Livan Hernandez will start in the first game of the doubleheader against James McDonald, while John Lannan will take the hill in the nightcap against Brad Lincoln. Here are the lineups for the first game.

  1. Roger Bernadina (CF)
  2. Jayson Werth (RF)
  3. Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
  4. Laynce Nix (LF)
  5. Michael Morse (1B)
  6. Danny Espinosa (2B)
  7. Ivan Rodriguez (C)
  8. Ian Desmond (SS)
  9. Livan Hernandez (P)
