Everton Vs. D.C. United: Tim Howard To Sit Out Exhibition At RFK Stadium

It's the midway point of the MLS season, but D.C. United will get no breaks, as they host Premier League club Everton in an exhibition at RFK Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and it will be the first meeting ever between the two clubs.

Everton, however, will not be starting their top goalie, a man U.S. soccer fans should know well. Tim Howard, the goalie for the U.S. Soccer Men's National Team, will sit out, according to Everton coach David Moyes. He's probably not injured, but with it being their offseason, it makes no sense to push him.

D.C. United, meanwhile, is coming off a disappointing 1-0 home loss to the New England Revolution on Wednesday. While this game does not count in the MLS standings, a good performance against one of the better club teams in the world, even in an exhibition, could act as a springboard to a strong second half of the season.
