Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra's fourth annual Celebrity Soccer Challenge at Kastles Stadium in Washington D.C. on Sunday just got real. Kobe Bryant, the star for the Los Angeles Lakers, is now apparently playing in the event. So, yeah, this one might be worth checking out.
Bryant joins athletes like Alex Morgan, Heather O'Reilly, Ali Krieger, John Carlson of the Washington Capitals, Jeff Green of the Boston Celtics. He also joins media luminaries like Mike Wise, Ivan Carter, Dan Hellie, Britt McHenry and Pam Brown. It's going to be funny when Bryant's competitive urge causes him to flip out at Wise for allowing yet another goal.
The game itself will take place at 11 a.m., with doors opening at 10 a.m. Tickets are $23, and all proceeds go to the Mia Hamm Foundation and Children's National Medical Center. Kobe Bryant, women's soccer players and a good cause? That sounds pretty good.
