Mets Vs. Nationals: Chien-Ming Wang Era Rises Against Mets At Nationals Park

After nearly two years of waiting, the Washington Nationals will finally get to see the fruits of their labor and patience in their attempts to get starting pitcher Chien-Ming Wang (0-0, -.-- ERA) back to pitching health. The Taiwanese pitcher has been sidelined since 2009 due to right shoulder problems, but finally he will make his Washington debut Friday night against the New York Mets.

It has been a slow process for Wang with a couple setbacks, however a few weeks ago he suddenly started his rehab assignments with modest success. Wang had six starts in the Minors this season, going 2-1 with a 3.14 ERA moving through the Nationals farm system. All eyes will be on the 6' 3" right hander as he takes on Dillon Gee (9-3, 3.75 ERA) and the surging New York Mets at 7:05 P.M.

In order to make room for Wang on the roster, center fielder Roger Bernadina was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
