After all was said and done, tonight was a good night for soccer in the D.C. area. We covered Manchester United and Barcelona elsewhere on this site, but if you didn't happen to stay up late on Saturday night (and if you didn't, what on earth is wrong with you?) then you missed some pretty classy finishing by Dwayne De Rosario, who scored both goals in D.C. United's 2-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes. De Rosario now has three goals in five league games for D.C. United, with each of the goals coming against one of his former employers (he also scored the only goal in United's 1-0 at New York Red Bulls back on July 9.
I've embedded the goal videos below. Notice the striking similarities (both are right-footed shots to the top corner of the net), but also notice the great set-ups. In particular, the give-and-go with Chris Pontius before the second goal is a thing of beauty. Enjoy.
