Former Georgetown Basketball Star Austin Freeman Cited For DUI, Other Traffic Offenses

Austin Freeman, the former Georgetown basketball star that went undrafted in the 2011 NBA Draft, has been cited for seven different traffic violations, including driving under the influence. According to Nathan Fenno of the Washington Times, Freeman was pulled over in Prince George's County early in the morning on June 25, two days after his name was not called at the draft.

The violations Freeman was cited for include driving under the influence, driving while impaired, reckless driving, negligent driving, failure to obey a traffic control device and not showing his registration to the police officer. The DUI charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail.

Freeman averaged 17.6 points per game for Georgetown last season and is a former DeMatha standout. He went through the draft process, working out for the Wizards and several other teams, but didn't get picked even in the second round of the draft.
