Braves Vs. Nationals: Washington Looks For Third Straight Win

Now that the MLB trade deadline has passed, the Washington Nationals can simply focus on baseball. Their first game since the deadline, though, will be a tough one, as they face the Atlanta Braves at Nationals Park at 7 p.m.

Atlanta ace Jair Jurrjens will take the mound looking for his 10th win of the season. He has not lost since a June 14 one to the New York Mets. However, one of those games was a 9-8 no-decision against the Nationals where he was tagged for six runs on eight hits in five innings.

Livan Hernandez will oppose Jurrjens, as he looks for his first win since late June. Hernandez is 5-10 on the year, and the Nationals are just 6-16 in his 22 starts.

Here is the Nationals' lineup.

  1. Rick Ankiel (CF)
  2. Danny Espinosa (2B)
  3. Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
  4. Michael Morse (1B)
  5. Jayson Werth (RF)
  6. Laynce Nix (LF)
  7. Ian Desmond (SS)
  8. Wilson Ramos (C)
  9. Livan Hernandez (P)
