D.C. United's Dwayne De Rosario Named MLS Player Of The Week

D.C. United announced Monday that midfielder Dwayne De Rosario had been named MLS Player of the Week by the North American Soccer Reporters (NASR). De Rosario scored both D.C. United goals in the Black-and-Red's 2-0 win over the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night.

De Rosario, who was acquired by D.C. United from the New York Red Bulls in exchange for Dax McCarty on June 27, is the first United player to win MLS Player of the Week honors this season. The Canadian international received ten first-place votes from the NASR, while Landon Donovan of the Los Angeles Galaxy came in second place with seven first-place votes. Brian Ching of the Houston Dynamo came in third with two first-place votes, while Robbie Rogers of the Columbus Crew, Kevin Hartman of FC Dallas, and Matt Pickens of the Colorado Rapids received one first-place vote apiece.

If you missed either of De Rosario's beauties against San Jose, look no further than right here.
