TV Sports Schedule, August 13: Nationals Vs. Phillies, Vancouver Whitecaps Vs. D.C. United, 2011 PGA Championship Third Round

Baseball and soccer and golf...oh my. That's how the saying goes, right? Below are the sporting events you should be watching today on the magic television box, unless of course you need to finish spackling your new Rex Grossman shrine based on his performance in a preseason opener. All times are Eastern, all snark my own.

Washington Nationals vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Friday night might have been the best evening in Nats Nation in quite some time. Uber phenoms Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg had excellent minor league appearances, and Livan Hernandez pitched and hit the big league club to a 4-2 victory over their divisional foes. John Lannann, 3-0 with a 2.19 ERA in his last six road starts, takes the hill Saturday, facing off against Philadelphia's Roy Oswalt. (7:05 P.M., MASN)

Vancouver Whitecaps vs. D.C. United: Two things I wanted to mention about this game: (1) That Vancouver team name might be one of the coolest in sports, and (2) I would never call myself a soccer fan, but I am developing a huge mancrush on DCU's Dwayne De Rosario. De Rosario looks for his third straight multi-goal game against a Vancouver team visiting RFK Stadium for the first time. Hopefully tonight the DCU keeper and coach don't get tossed from the game. (CSN Washington, 7:30 P.M.)

2011 PGA Championship Third Round: Well, no Tiger Woods to kick around this weekend. In fact, as of right now, the two leaders are guys the average golf fan (and this guy typing) have barely (or perhaps never) heard of. Jason Dufner and Keegan Bradley are tied atop the leaderboard after two rounds, both at five under. Eleven golfers are within three strokes of the lead as the third round begins Saturday from the Atlantic Athletic Club. (TNT, In Progress and CBS, 2:00 P.M.)
