Laron Landry Injury Improving, Redskins' Safety Expects To Return To Field

LaRon Landry's Achilles injury has been an ongoing concern for the Washington Redskins during training camp, with Landry being placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Landry did not have surgery to repair the injury, which was initially suffered midway through last season, and it was slow to respond over the offseason.

But Monday brought some good news from Landry himself. Landry told reporters that he expects to be activated from the PUP list and will play in the team's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on August 25. Via Rich Campbell of the Washington Times:

That means Landry will miss Friday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, but it is still good news for those worried about his status. He was playing at a Pro Bowl level last season before suffering the injury after nine games.
