Running back James Davis, a reserve who has fallen behind Ryan Torain, Tim Hightower, Evan Royster and Roy Helu in the chase for playing time at running back and Darrel Young at fullback, did not attend the Redskins' practice on Monday. When asked about it, coach Mike Shanahan said he had no idea where Davis was and his absence was not excused.
So what happened with Davis? According to ESPN 980's Chris Russell, Davis took exception to his lack of playing time and left a coaches meeting after an argument.
Sources tell ESPN-980 that #Redskins RB James Davis left a team meeting/film session last night (unexcused) after getting in to an arguement w/ a coach about lack of playing time/reps. He is still MIA.
Davis barely played last season and didn't get much playing time in the Redskins' preseason game against the Steelers.
