Redskins Training Camp: Washington Adds Linebacker Thaddeus Gibson, Kicker Clint Stitser

With all the injuries the Redskins have suffered during training camp, they have been forced to continually shuffle their roster to bring in healthy bodies. According to the Washington Post, the Redskins have claimed linebacker Thaddeus Gibson off waivers from the San Fransisco 49ers, and added kicker Clint Stitser.

Gibson in in his second year out of Ohio St., and played parts of last season for the Steelers and the 49ers. He got into two games and made just three tackles. To find room for him on the roster, the Redskins cut another linebacker, Obi Ezeh. Chicago and Pittsburgh also put in claims for Gibson, but he was awarded to Washington. It probably says good things about him that a team like Pittsburgh would want to bring him back into the fold.

Stitser spent his rookie year in Incineration last year, connecting on 7-8 field goal attempts. He will see some immediate playing time on Friday because Graham Gano has left camp to be with his wife during the birth of their first child. When Gano returns, Stitser is expected to provide a little competition, though I have to think that it is Gano's job to lose.
