Despite Threat Of Lost Season, Washington Wizards Release 2011 Preseason Schedule

The 2011-12 NBA season may be a lost cause, but the Washington Wizards went ahead and released their preseason schedule Thursday.

The Washington Wizards released their 2011 preseason schedule today, announcing eight scheduled games that, barring a miracle, will never happen.

With no end in sight to the current NBA lockout, most experts predict the league will open its doors sometime in early 2012, at the earliest. The more pessimistic predictions say that the entire 2011-2012 season will be lost.

Regardless, the Association decided to humor its season-ticket holders and release the schedule that, even if it were to be played in full, nobody would likely care about.

In these hypothetical exhibition games, the Wizards would host the New York Knicks in their first game on October 13, and then travel to Milwaukee, Philadelphia and Cleveland before returning home to host the defending NBA champion Dallas Mavericks on October 21.

The next day they play Memphis at a site to be determined, then finish the preseason with road dates against the Knicks and the Miami Heat.

I recommend making backup plans if you intend to spend those nights watching NBA basketball.
