The Washington Redskins continue to have no trouble with the Indianapolis Colts, leading 16-3 after three quarters. Rex Grossman has entered the game at quarterback for Washington, but did not enjoy either the success he had last week or the success John Beck had in the first half guiding the Redskins offense. Grossman was just two for four in the quarter, and was not helped by yet another Leonard Hankerson drop.
Rookie running back Roy Helu Jr. continues to have a tremendous game. Helu has carried the ball 14 times for 101 yards, an impressive 7.2 ypc average on he ground. Helu shows a knack for avoiding direct contact, and is always looking for the extra yard along the sideline rather than avoiding hits.
Defensively, DeJon Gomes has once again been all over the field making plays. Veteran Lorenzo Alexander notched a sack in the quarter, the second sack of the game for the Redskins. Rookie Ryan Kerrigan got to Colts quarterback Curtis Painter in the second quarter.
Back-up linebacker Edgar Jones took a vicious hit on a punt return midway through the quarter, and was diagnosed with a concussion. He will not return to the field Friday evening.
