The Legg Mason Tennis Classic continues at the Fitzgerald Tennis Center at Rock Creek Park in Northwest D.C., and some of the sport's stars are taking part in the event.
The big story from Wednesday's action is probably Donald Young, the young American who continues to work his way through the tournament. He wasn't given too much of a chance to win, but the further he gets, the more the crowd will get behind him. He didn't get to complete his match against Jürgen Melzer on Wednesday, but after earning a break in the third set, Melzer retired.
Here are Wednesday's results:
Donald Young def. Jürgen Melzer 6-7, 6-4, 3-1 (ret.)
Fernando Verdasco def. Marinko Matosevic 6-4, 6-4
Nikolay Davydenko def. Matthew Ebden 6-3, 7-5
Viktor Troicki def. Ryan Harrison 7-5, 6-2
Michael Russell def. Xavier Malisse 7-6, 2-3 (ret.)
Radek Štěpánek def. Wayne Odesnik 6-1, 6-1
