The Washington Redskins have seemingly made another move near the end of the NFL free agency period in an attempt to improve their offensive line. The Redskins have signed Sean Locklear, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks, according to a report by Doc Walker over at ESPN 980.
Locklear was a starter at right and left tackle for the Seahawks, having started no fewer than 10 games in any season since 2005. However, the 30-year old's play had declined enough for the Seahawks to make him a free agent at the end of the year. Locklear could also be moved inside, where he'll have a better shot at competing for a starting job. The Redskins are expected to play Trent Williams and Jammal Brown at tackle, but are much thinner at guard, even after signing Chris Chester from the Baltimore Ravens. It appears that Locklear will be used mostly to provide depth.
It is not immediately clear how much money Locklear's new deal is worth or how many years it is.
