The Washington Capitals opened training camp Saturday and a more serious tone after several postseason disappointments was the consensus among the players. Yet, Saturday was not devoid of fun as forward Alex Ovechkin celebrated his 26th birthday. During his first media session, Ovechkin received quite the surprise as Nicklas Backstrom pied him in the face with a shaving cream pie. No word on whether or not Gillette, one of Ovechkin's many sponsors, provided the shaving cream.
