For three quarters, it looked like Wake Forest was going to start their 2011 season on a much higher note than it ended its 2010 season. The Demon Deacons, who were just 3-9 last season, raced ahead of improving Syracuse in the Carrier Dome, taking a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter.
But then, disaster struck. Syracuse eventually stormed back to tie the score in the fourth quarter, then won the game on the first overtime.
