Wizards Schedule 2012: Washington Hosts Three Western Conference Foes At Verizon Center This Week

The Washington Wizards will host three Western Conference teams this week, including a visit from hometown favorite Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Washington Wizards will now host three Western Conference teams this week, searching for their second win after being blown out in a home-and-home series with the Philadelphia 76ers this weekend. It starts with an MLK day matinee matchup with the Houston Rockets. The Rockets are 5-7 this season, but enter Monday afternoon's game having won their last two games.

On Wednesday, the Wizards host the Oklahoma City Thunder in what will be the only game between those two teams this season. The Thunder are the trendy and popular pick to represent the Western Conference in 2012 Finals. They are 11-2, only a half game behind the Bulls for the best record in the league. There should be a solid and energetic crowd at Verizon Center as hometown favorite Kevin Durant returns and hopes to put on a show for the local crowd he knows so well.

Finally, the Wizards close out the week hosting yet another Western Conference foe at Verizon Center. The frenetic up-and-down Nuggets visit town, with George Karl's deep rotation sure to keep the pace fast against John Wall and the Wiz. It will be a tough week for Washington to score its second win of the season, with Monday's visit from the Rockets presenting their best opportunity for a win.
