VIDEO: Kris Jenkins Buzzer Beater Gives Gonzaga Bragging Rights Over Patterson

There was tons of anticipation for Monday's high school basketball showdown between undefeated Gonzaga and Baltimore City powerhouse Patterson, featuring future Seton Hall player and pint-sized dynamo Aquille Carr, and the game didn't disappoint. It looked like Patterson would hand the Purple Eagles their first loss, but that was before junior Kris Jenkins, forced into a prominent role with star Nate Britt (North Carolina) sidelined, did this.

(A version featuring CSN Washington's Chick Hernandez's call is here).

It was a heck of a shot made possible only by an offensive rebound, and it gave Gonzaga D.C. bragging rights. That's enough for us to make reference to it in this space, because we all know D.C.>Baltimore.

Of course, Carr himself was pretty impressive, pouring in 36 points to lead his team. Even though we're very much pro-D.C. folks here, we can appreciate the 5'6'' point guard's game. He's fantastic and I can't wait to see him play in college.

But whatever. Today, D.C. won, and that's what matters.
