George Mason entered the game against the James Madison Dukes looking to pick up their sixth win in a row and were able to hold on at the end to do so, picking up the 89-79 victory. The Dukes rallied back in the second half after trailing by just two points at halftime, but even with Humpty Hitchens putting down 27 points and seven assists, it just wasn't enough to keep up with the Patriots. Andrey Semenov also added 15 points and eight rebounds.
For George Mason, forward Ryan Pearson had a big afternoon putting down 29 points and 15 rebounds to pick up a double-double. Guards Byron Allen and Vertrail Vaughns each picked up 14 points in the victory as well, despite the fact that no one could really get much going from the three-point line.
