George Washington Vs. St. Louis: Colonials Fall To 0-2 In Conference Play With 78-56 Loss

A tough season for the George Washington Colonials (5-10, 0-2) and new head coach Mike Lonergan continued Saturday night, as GW fell 78-56 to the St. Louis Billikens (13-3, 1-1), dropping the Colonials to 0-2 in Atlantic 10 conference play.

George Washington actually held a 32-31 lead with just under five minutes left in the first half, but St. Louis went on a 11-3 run to end the half, giving the Billikens a 42-35 advantage at halftime.

St. Louis was paced by Dwayne Evans, who recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Kwamain Mitchell chipped in 15 points for the Billikens, and as a team St. Louis shot 50 percent from the floor, making seven of their 15 three point attempts.

George Washington was led in scoring by David Pellom (15 points) and Tony Taylor (13 points). The Colonials turned the ball over 15 times, and were outrebounded 32-19.
