College Football Rankings, Week 6: Hokies receive one vote, Terps, Cavaliers none in Coaches Poll

Virginia Tech receives the D.C. area's lone vote in the Week 6 Coaches Poll.

The Coaches Poll Top 10, with the exception of Stanford, stayed largely unchanged in Week 5, thanks to a lack of upsets. Stanford, which was upset by Washington, dropped from No. 9 to No. 18. Texas slid up from No. 10 to No. 9 and Notre Dame squeezed into the back of the Top 10.

Alabama stayed at No. 1, followed by Oregon, LSU, Florida State, Georgia, South Carolina, West Virginia and Kansas State.

Behind Notre Dame, Florida, USC, TCU, Clemson and Louisville fall back in the same order as the previous week. Oregon State moved up from 21 to 17 in this week, and is followed by Stanford, Mississippi State and Nebraska, the latter two in the same spots they were the previous week.

Rutgers moved up from No. 25 to No. 21 in this week's poll, followed by four newcomers to the Coaches Poll: Northwestern at 22, Cincinnati, Texas Tech and Boise State.

Virginia Tech is the only local school to receive any votes, and the Hokies got just one. Virginia and Maryland unsurprisingly didn't appear on any ballots.
