Vikings vs. Redskins, Score Update: Three field goals put Minnesota up, 9-0, after first quarter

The Minnesota Vikings lead the Washington Redskins, 9-0, at the end of the first quarter at FedEx Field.

Rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III is back in the lineup for Washington after missing the end of last week's loss with a mild concussion. Griffin III completed 3-of-5 passes for 38 yards in the first quarter and was picked off once in addition to rushing once for 7 yards.

Running back Adrian Peterson has 46 yards on seven carries for the Vikings. Minnesota quarterback Christian Ponder completed 8-of-11 passes for 100 yards in the first quarter.

Kicker Blair Walsh had all nine points for the Vikings, hitting field goals attempts from 20 yards once and 27 yards twice.

Minnesota is 4-1 on the season and leads the NFC North. Washington is 2-3 thus far in 2012 and is looking for their first home victory of the season.
