Indiana vs. Navy: Keenan Reynolds earns second start at QB for Midshipmen

The Navy Midshipmen struggled early in the season, which prompted head coach Ken Niumatalolo to change quarterbacks last week. Keenan Reynolds, an undersized true freshman, has not looked back since earning the promotion, going 16-for-24 for 266 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.

As Niumatalolo met with the media following Navy's 31-13 win over Central Michigan, he has decided to give Reynolds another start under center, as the Midshipmen take on the Indiana Hoosiers. Here is the latest from Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times.

"Every time the guy goes out there, he amazes you," Niumatalolo said. "What he did at Air Force was amazing, but to come back in that game and I thought he played well. Even some of the little runs, he tucked it up and got some positive yards when he could have had negative yards. I thought he played smart."

Navy relies heavily on its rushing attack to move the chains on offense, but there are big situations in every game that do require the quarterback to throw the ball down the field. What Reynolds may lack in size or experience is made up with great instincts on the field, and coach Niumatalolo has certainly taken notice. The Midshipmen will face Indiana next weekend as they look to push their record above .500.
