Saturday's 41-20 victory over the Duke Blue Devils helped the Virginia Tech Hokies earn votes in the latest SB Nation BlogPoll, which was released Tuesday. The Hokies (4-3, 2-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) snapped a two-game losing streak with its most complete performance of the season, but the effort was unable to help Virginia Tech crack the top 25.
The Hokies didn't receive any votes in the USA Today Coaches' or AP polls, which were posted on Monday.
Overall, only two ACC programs were ranked in the top 25. The Florida St. Seminoles were slotted No. 11, while the Clemson Tigers were ranked 16th. The North Carolina Tar Heels were the other ACC school to receive votes in the poll.
Meanwhile, the top 5 featured the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide, Oregon Ducks, Florida Gators, Kansas St. Wildcats and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
