Virginia Tech Vs. Clemson 2012: Hokies fans react

Leading into yesterday's ACC matchup between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Clemson Tigers, Gobbler Country, SB Nation's Hokies community, hoped Virginia Tech would "exact revenge" against Clemson for last season's losses during the regular season and ACC Championship Game. That revenge would not be realized, however, as Clemson surged to a 38-17 victory on a big second half from the Tigers' offense.

Virginia Tech fans were pleased with how the Hokies played early, praising the team for "[coming] out in style at Clemson Memorial Stadium, playing like their hair was on fire." But soon thereafter, they began to question head coach Frank Beamer's play calling as well as the ACC officiating against a talented Clemson opponent.

As Gobbler Country put it, the game "ended bizarrely" in the third quarter, when Virginia Tech drives continued to fall short, while Clemson drives moved the ball swiftly and successfully into the endzone.

Next saturday, the Hokies will have a bye before travelling to face the Miami Hurricanes.
