Surprising no one, Alabama and Oregon remain atop the coaches poll after convincing wins over Tennessee and Arizona State, respectively. Much of the rest of the top ten remained static as well, with just Kansas State and Florida switching their No. 3 and No. 4 rankings from last week and USC and Oregon State climbing a few spots with the fall of South Carolina. The Gamecocks, after a devastating loss on the road to Florida, dropped from No. 8 to 16.

Three teams, TCU, Arizona State, and Cincinnati, dropped out of the poll altogether. That made room for Ohio, Texas and Wisconsin, who emerged in this week's poll at at Nos. 23-25 respectively.

Michigan jumped five spots from No. 25 to No. 20 after a 12-10 victory over arch rival Michigan State in Ann Arbor, and Mississippi State jumped from No. 16 to No. 12 after remaining undefeated with a decisive home victory over Middle Tennessee.
