Redskins vs. Giants final score: New York rallies to beat Washington, 27-23

The New York Giants defeated the Washington Redskins, 27-23, on Sunday at MetLife Stadium thanks to a late touchdown strike by Eli Manning

Victor Cruz caught a 77-yard touchdown pass from Manning to take a 27-23 lead, on just the second play after falling behind in the final two minutes.

It looked like Robert Griffin III had led a game-winning drive when he hit Santana Moss over the shoulder in the end zone for a 30-yard touchdown to put the Redskins ahead, 23-20 with 1:32 left in the game.

The drive had been kept alive on a 4th-and-10 play where Griffin III scrambled to keep the play alive and and converted with a pass to Logan Paulsen.

The Redskins turned the ball over four times on Sunday after entering the game with only five turnovers on the season.

Griffin III and Moss had linked up for the only other passing touchdown of the game in the second quarter on a screen pass that Moss took 26 yards untouched for a second-quarter score.

Ahmad Bradshaw and Andre Brown both had one-yard rushing touchdowns for New York.

In the first NFC East game of his career, Griffin III was 20-for-28 passing for 258 yards as well as nine carries for 89 yard. Alfred Morris lead the Washington rushing attack with 22 yards on 120 carries, doing most of his damage in the first half.

Manning completed 26 of his 46 passing attempts for 338 yards and the one touchdown. Cruz led the Giants in receiving with 131 yards on seven catches.

The Giants, now 5-2 on the season, remain atop the NFC East while the Redskins fall to 3-4.

Fantasy studs/duds: Both quarterback helped out their fantasy owners. Robert Griffin III went for more than 300 total yards as well as two touchdowns, but did have three turnovers, while Eli Manning threw for 338 yards and a touchdown. Santana Moss' two touchdowns and Victor Cruz's 131 yards plus a touchdown made the receivers strong fantasy players this week. Despite getting a touchdown each, owners of either new York running back, Andre Brown or Ahmad Bradshaw will be disappointed with their low yardage totals. Odds/Gambling: The Giants could not cover the 6.5-point spread that they were favored by coming into the game. For more NFL odds and point spreads, check out SB Nation's odds page.

Injury info: The Redskins continued to be hampered by injuries as they lost both linebacker London Fletcher and tight end Fred Davis in Sunday's game. Fletcher came out in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury and did not return, but the injury to Davis is perhaps even more severe. Davis was carted from the sideline to the locker room in the first half with an achilles tendon injury that reportedly will end his season.

Next team on the schedule: The Giants go on the road to face the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday, Oct. 28, at 4:25 p.m. ET. Next up for Washington is a trip to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 1 p.m. ET.
