NFL Week 8 picks: Redskins vs. Steelers

The Washington Redskins are the overwhelming underdog in Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Geoff Burke-US PRESSWIRE

The Washington Redskins are the overwhelming underdog in the opinion of the majority of major outlets for Sunday's Week 8 meeting against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Only a week removed from a disappointing defeat at the hands of the New York Giants, rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III has displayed that he is one of the most exciting players in the game today. Despite his explosive nature and big play capability, many believe that the Redskins defense has performed too inconsistently for the team to collect wins.

Ryan Van Bibber at SB Nation also raises questions about the Steelers, but ultimately believes that their recent success against the NFC at home (winning the last nine contests against the conference at Heinz Field) will bode well for the team on Sunday. He predicts that the Redskins will lose by a 10-point margin, 31-21.

At CBSSports.com, their entire staff agrees with Van Bibber as they all selected the Steelers to come out victorious in their straight-up picks. The majority at ESPN (10-of-14 analysts) also picked the Steelers, as did the majority at Yahoo!.
