Maryland vs. Boston College Scoring Update: Eagles Extend Lead to 10-0 After Boring Second Quarter

Caleb Rowe threw his first two collegiate interceptions, Boston College scored a field goal, and a boring second quarter went by nearly without notice. After the first play went from Chase Rettig to Chris Pantale for 22 yards, we didn't see another first down until about 11 minutes later.

On third-and-eight from the Eagles' 45, Rowe got pressured from outside and threw the ball directly to defensive lineman Kieran Borcich. A 29-yard Rettig pass to Johnathan Coleman set up a 36-yard field goal from Nate Freese, increasing BC's lead to 10-0.

Maryland almost had a drive going later, when Rowe completed a 10-yard pass to Diggs, which was followed by a personal foul penalty on BC. On the next play, Rowe threw towards the end zone looking for Nigel King, but was picked off by Justin Simmons.

Rowe finishes the half 13/27 for 81 yards and two interceptions, with four rushes for 17 yards. Diggs has seven catches for 51 yards, and Wes Brown has 13 rushes for 52 yards. Rowe is doing just fine for a fourth-string quarterback, but it's hard to see how Maryland will score in this one.
