Navy vs. East Carolina 2012: Navy rolls East Carolina 56-28

Have a game Keenan Reynolds.

The central focus of the Navy offense, freshman quarterback Keenan Reynolds threw two touchdowns and ran for three more as the Midshipmen took it to the East Carolina Pirates in the second half, defeating them 56-28.

There appeared to be a game brewing as the Pirates mounted to extended drives in the second quarter that resulted in touchdowns, the second a 96-yard drive that ended in a Reggie Bullock 2-yard score. But the best defense in the game was the Navy rushing attack, which mounted 512 yards, whereas ECU could only muster 338 yards of total offense in the game. Five different Navy rushers scored touchdowns, including the three from Reynolds.

Along with the inability to stop the Navy run game, East Carolina committed seven penalties for 78 yards and turned the ball over twice.

Navy improves to 5-3 on the season, while East Carolina falls to 5-4 despite being 4-1 in Conference USA play.

Box Score Hero: It's obviously Reynolds, who totaled (blank) yards and five TDs, but Navy running back Gee Gee Greene averaged 9.4 yards per carry on his way to (blank) rushing yards.

Rankings Ramifications: Both teams are certain to stay unranked, though Navy's running game should receive national attention and ECU remains in the mix in Conference USA

But Did They Cover? East Carolina came into this game favored by 3, so Navy's outright victory should be a surprise to oddsmakers.
