The starting lineup for the Washington Wizards in their season opener is set, and they'll start A.J. Price and Bradley Beal at the guard spots with Trevor Booker at power forward, as reported by Mike Wise of the Washington Post.
With injuries hurting Washington's lineup -- John Wall is out for an extended period of time after hurting his knee in the offseason, while Nene's timetable for a return to practicing and playing as he deals with plantar fasciitis -- there's not much coach Randy Wittman can do. He's not able to trot out his best lineup -- that would feature those injured players -- but he'll have to make do when the team opens the season Tuesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Here's how the starting lineup looks:
PG: A.J. Price
SG: Bradley Beal
SF: Trevor Ariza
PF: Trevor Booker
C: Emeka Okafor
Wise reports that the bench rotation will feature Jan Vesely, Jordan Crawford, and Chris Singleton with Cartier Martin and Earl Barron filling in at deeper bench roles. On the plus side, there's young talent in the lineup that will get a chance to adjust to the NBA while waiting for two of the team's better players to return.
