NCAA Football Rankings, Week 7: South Carolina, West Virginia rise in top 5 shakeup

After a wild Saturday saw many ranked teams go down, the Coaches Poll is very different for Week 7.

The top five of the Week 7 Coaches Poll Top 25 barely resembles its previous iteration, as Nos. 3, 4, and 5 lost on Saturday.

The leaders remain the same, as the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oregon Ducks still hold down the first and second slots. South Carolina has moved up to No. 3 on the strength of the blowout victory over Georgia. The Bulldogs have dropped to No. 12.

West Virginia and Kansas State complete the top five. The Mountaineers got a huge road win over the weekend, taking down Texas in Austin. The Longhorns fall six spots to No. 15.

Florida State was upset by North Carolina State, and moved from No. 4 to 11. LSU is at No. 8 after a loss to Florida, who rose to No. 6.

No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 9 USC, and No. 10 Oklahoma complete the top 10. The Trojans and Sooners return to familiar ground after early-season losses.
